Tuesday Tidbits.

I'm in the process of watching The American President and realized I didn't post "yet" today.  Well, here I am!  I must say that nothing interesting was on television tonight so, I decided this evening was a live-streaming Netflix evening.  I still have about 20 minutes to go.  Let's get to it the ...tidbits... for today.

I've been ramping up for the Christmas boutique that I'll be participating in, in November.  And I've a snag of sorts.  You see I burned the index finger on my left hand with my super hot glue gun and let me just say that it's a good thing I'm right handed.  I've had quite a bit of irritation since I did it.  Tonight will be another Neosporin evening.  I'm hoping by tomorrow evening that I'm ready to go with my glue gun again.  *Fingers crossed*

I've actually cut quite a bit of paper preparing for the event.  The key to making my cards is cutting all the parts ahead of time and lining up an assemble line of sorts.  Don't get me wrong it does take a while to fine tune a design.  But, once I get going with all of the pieces I can knock out about 5 sets of cards.  Yep, I sure can.  This weekend I'll be home and working on my cards.  Oh, and I've got 2 new scarves in the works to.

This weekend I plan on working my tail off in my studio (aka the kitchen counter) and completing 15 sets of cards.  Yes, that is my goal.  I'd like to say 20 sets of cards but, I think that is unrealistic.  Wait, maybe it's not because I do have 3-days off.  Hmmm, I'll have to see.  And then of course photographing all of them and then listing them on Etsy, it's ahhh...how do you say time consuming.  I'm going to take a bit of time out for the pool and of course a movie on Sunday morning.  Oh, and need I forget the yard sale I'm participating in early Saturday morning.  Yuck!  However, if I make $100 it will definitely be worth it.

Anyhow, I don't have much else planned other than laundry, cleaning, and of course pizza night (Friday evening).  That's the essence of my weekend.  What's everyone else's plans?  Any exciting plans or taking it easy like me (well, sort of)?

Have a wonderful evening and I'll see you tomorrow.  I'm headed back to Annette Benning and Michael Douglas...I think they make a great couple in this movie.

Just Because: I'm feeling girlie glam.

I'm feeling a little blue so, I thought I'd go girlie and glam.

I'd love to look this sassy and chic walking through the airport.

Playing "dress-up" with boys...so, much fun!  Sorry, I couldn't resist including this pic.
It's pretty girlie glam if you ask me: Kate sharing hte moment with Matthew, love it!
Don't you?

Diamonds and feathers...YES, YES!  This one's a double yes.

A very bright, sassy color and oh so cute shoes!  Comfort and sass.  Love it!

And of course a girlie glam pair of shoes!

This outfit screams "ME", oh yes it does!  Fashion Fairy I want "one" of each please.  Love it!

Each of us loves to be girlie and glam...know the question is what's your signature "IT" item?
A certain particular piece of clothing?  A fabulous statement accessory?  Or a sassy color?
What's your favorite girlie glam look?

Fashion Friday & Friday's Fancies - Wedding Guest Style.

Today's theme: wedding guest style.  When dressing for a wedding, one needs to dress appropriate for the style and type of wedding.  This IS absolutely crucial.  The worst you can do is wear shorts or a sundress to a beach wedding when it's formal.

Let's revisit the outfit I created and wore to Will and Kate's nuptials a few months ago, visit post here.  I must say that my Wanderlust Wednesday post right before the wedding is quite a post as everyone "thought" I was actually attending the wedding as a close personal friend of the bride and groom.  You can read the post here.  I didn't mean to mislead everyone but, it sure was a fun post to write.

Please take part in the blog hop over at Blonde Episodes for Fashion Friday and {long distance loving} for Friday's Fancies.  And both of these blogs have fabulous fashion posts, simply fabulous!

Have a wonderful Friday!  This has been a very long week and I am very much looking forward to relaxing this weekend.  I have no major plans and unfortunately no plans to head to the beach (although, I wish I did).

What I'm Wearing to the Royal Wedding.

Oh So True.

The beach...

...is calling my name.  I'd love, love, love, to be there right now.  The sand.  The surf.  The smell.  It would definitely beat the 112 degrees we had today.  The temp went down to 110 degrees as I drove home.  But, anyone whose been to the beach knows exactly what I'm talking about.  The tranquility.  The relaxation.  The ambiance.  The experience.  And add a few frosty beverages and you are good to go!

I was surfing around pinterest this evening and found some delightful beach photos that I would love to be in!  Let me know which one you'd like to be in.  Plus, I'm including pictures of my own for must-haves for my beach vacation.  Alright, follow along...

I'll need one of my monogrammed bags...

My tote for the plane.

And every beach getaway needs a beach tent!

Oh, beach how I miss you.  I'll see you one day soon.

...this & that... {Wednesday}

Ahhh, yes...a new series!  I'll use this post mid-week periodically "when" I have more to say.  Let's just say that I have more to say...today...

Bern and I have still not figured out "where" we are going on vacation in November.  We are on a mission to find a deal and keep our vacay on a strict "budget" and utilize the kickin' deals that are out there right now, and let me tell you that there are a bunch of deals out there right now.

About a month and a half ago we hit a snafu: US Airways does not fly into Italy, November through January.  So, that means we can't use miles to fly into Venice (Italy) and hop on the Eastern Mediterranean cruise we were going to go on.  A little disappointing considering we were really looking forward to Venice, Greece, and Croatia.  I'm still bummed and so is Bern.  After we found this out we switched gears a bit, well, Bern really did.  And I must say he had a pretty good idea.  We thought about heading to London and Scotland.  Bern wants to visit the World War II Memorial in London and find his Uncle's name (and his namesake) on the memorial wall.  And checking out the rest of the "tourist" sites wouldn't be bad either and maybe sleep in a castle in Scotland.  Sounds good to me, don't you think?

Let me point out as well that the cruise much cheaper than the trip to London by almost half.  Let me just spell it out for you:  the cruise is $350-$479 per person for 7-days, dependent on the departure date.  This includes all of our food, soda, water, coffee.  Obviously alcohol and cappuccino's are extra, and must-haves for Bern and I.  Our last cruise Bern got on the cappuccino "band-wagon" and it was awesome to share that with me - one of my favorite things.  And throughout Europe no less, it's simply awesome and then some.  Oh yes, it really was!  And will be again.  The trip to London will be roughly $1,000 due to the Euro and not having food all-inclusive with our hotel stays.  However, if we go to the UK we will be staying in apartments rather than hotels, Roomorama.

Just had a rather lengthily pause in my writing, Bern called.  And we were having a vacation planning conference call.  We do this a lot when planning trips.  Anyhow, a little update...  So, it appears as though we might to Cancun for Labor Day weekend.  Yes, that's in about 1-1/2 weeks.  We both love the beach and are calculated the pricing to be almost equivalent to what our road trip to Laguna, California is and that's staying at La Quinta Hotel away from the beach and driving there every morning.  And packing a cooler with food and drinks.  I must add that I do pack some pretty spectacular snacks:  almonds, dried cranberries, varying flavors of Greek yogurt, cheese sticks (string cheese and monterrey jack), and Famous Amos snack size chocolate chip cookies.

We all discussed our November trip...  I think we are still going to go on cruise but, we will be going in October to utilize "free" miles and fly our airline, US Airways.  Pricing still remains around $450-$479 for 7-days, includes all food and non-alcoholic beverages.  In my opinion, it's a no brainer.  We'd both really love to go to the UK however, financially the cruise is more economical and simple stated it's a much better deal.  We can always go next year sometime after the Olympics.  However, that does kind of screw up my plan to see George Michael in concert while there...this is a secret Bern didn't know about this as of yet...but, I guess he will now.

So, no decisions have been made yet.  Bern needs to call US Airways and work out some of the specifics to see if it's a go for launch.  Too funny, I know.  And I must say I'm a bit bummed about not getting to utilize the Thanksgiving holiday for my vacation but, that's ok.  If I don't use my vacation time I lose it.  Oh, and I also sprung on Bernie that I think we should head to the beach for New Year's too.  There are some pretty fantastic deals for New Year's right now too!  So, if your thinking of heading out of town, do some research.  There are fabulous deals.

Oh, I wanted to share what new books I'm reading.  Yes, I know I need to update what I'm reading on the blog side bar...will do after I "post" this post.  I'm reading the second book, Brava, Valentine, in the Very Valentine series by Adriana Trigiani.  Love it!  And I guess Very Valentine was made into a Lifetime movie as well, haven't seen it yet.  I've put the Four Blondes by Candace Bushnell (Sex and the City) book to the side but, not done with it yet.  And for our beach trip 2 weeks ago I bought the new James Patterson paperback while standing in line at the checkout, Private.  Yes, I really did buy a book while standing in the checkout line, it actually looked really good.  It's actually a quick and fun read.  You see James has the chapters set up short and sweet, about 2-5 pages each.  Love it!  I need a little suspense in my life.  Sometimes a girl just has to switch it up a bit...I guess I need a little break from all of my romance/suspense novel combos.  However, I am looking forward to anything new from Nora Roberts.

Has anyone else seen that "SJP", Sarah Jessica Parker, has hinted about a Sex and the City 3 and/or the show coming back to tv?  I'd love to know if anyone else has read or heard about this.  But, I'm excited either way.  A movie or a show, right?  I can't wait to see if its true...?  Apparently, Darren Star needs to be on board or the show to come back on television.  Well, come on Darren...Sex and the City is calling your name.  And so am I.  Let's keep our fingers crossed.  Ok, cross your fingers now and hold as long as possible.  Thanks.

What does everyone think about the new SJP movie coming out?  And for the life of me I can't remember the name nor did I read the book but, it looks super funny!  And every time I google SJP movie - Sex and the City comes up.  Anyway...

Have a fabulous rest of the evening and I'll catch you tomorrow.

Wanderlust Wednesday - A little something beachy...

I'm absolutely, positively jonesing to go back to Europe right now.  However...  Yes, however I'm dying for a week of sun, sand, cocktails, and bikini's.  Yes, I seriously am.  I'd like to get out of the heat.  Today the Valley of the Sun was a whopping 108 degrees.  I'm thinking the 7-mile beach in Jamaica would hit the spot, don't you?  Do I have any takers?  Hmmm, I think a few of you are nodding and shaking your head's, correct?  I know I'm right.  Don't forget to post a comment and let me know your right there with me.

Alright, I'm ready for a week of bliss on the beach.  If someone told me I could get on a plane today I'd agree to bring no electronics.  Seriously, I would.  No Blackberry and no computer.  Ahhh, I can feel the sand now squishing between my toes.  And the thought of having a frosty beverage served to me beach side is like absolute heaven!  Ahhh...

It's time to escape.  Let's back our teeny, tiny bag and head to the airport.  Don't forget your sunscreen.  I'm ready.  Ready?  Let's go.  And let's escape.

Enjoy!  This escape is definitely what the doctor ordered.  Have a wonderful day.

Tuesday Tidbits.

August has been quite a whirl-wind for me.  How about you, how's August treating you?  I've been somewhat perplexed about what to blog about...  Yes, really I seriously have.  Sometimes, I...have so much to share and I'm not quite sure "where" to begin.  I'm mean let's be honest, I still have yet to blog about my 12-day vacation to Europe last year.  Oh, I've shared a lot of pictures but, not the bits and pieces that made the trip fantabulous.  Oh, how I wish I was back there now.  Anywho, I've clearly been busy.  So, let's get on with the "tidbits" about ...this & that...

I'm in love with Society Social.  I want the The Double bar cart.  It would make a fabulous bar cart but, also it would "double" as a fabulous sparkly end table.  And I have just the place for it.  Oh, and the silver would be the right amount of sparkly for my living room.  Every girl needs a bit of sparkly in their life.  And this is a daily must!  Let me just say that The Dinner Party table is a must-have for any hostess that lives in a teeny, tiny small space - that's me!  All 458 square feet worth.  Let me just tell you that this table folds down to be 7 inches wide.  YES!  So awesome.  The problem is currently I have no room for this table.  Well, I sort of do.  You see I'm in need of a desk and this could double.  But, the next question is "which" color.  Ahh, decisions, decisions.  First up on my "must-have" list is going to be bar cart.  I'm so looking forward to the sparkle!

Ooohhh, I have some exciting news!  Last Thursday I was accepted to be a part of the Believe Boutique.  The Cornerstone Church in Chandler, Arizona has a holiday boutique every November and Blondie's Shop will be a part of it this  year!  YAY!  I'm so very excited.  And that also means that I need to put shop production into an all-time high gear.  I've been making baby shower invitations for a girlfriend.  The theme is pink and chocolate polka dot.  They are sooo cute!  I'm also going to offer the same cards in blue and chocolate polka dot, I need to make sure the boys are represented as well.  A special shout out to my girlfriend, Staci, for inviting me to the Believe Boutique last year.  Staci showcases her business, Bella Dreams, as well.  One of these days Staci will have a blog and/or website so that all of you can see her fabulous sparkly jewelry and clothing.  Anyhow, the Believe Boutique is a wonderful boutique so, if you live in Arizona make it a point to stop by.  You can seriously get a bunch of holiday shopping out of the way and buy yourself a few gifts too!  Thanks Staci.  I also made some cards for Natasha over at Schue Love - they match her blog.  You see I follow her blog and I was a bit inspired.  So, be on the look for more blog inspired cards.  More are in the works...  You never know who I might surprise next.

Have all of you read Society Social's magalog yet?  If not, your sooo missing out.  It's a must read for anyone who wants to live sparkly and for the hostess in all of us.  It's the Manifesto Magalog to be exact.  Check it out.  I love it!  Roxy (Society Social's founder) has put together a fabulous group of contributor's.

Earlier today I "popped" on twitter and asked for some inspiration...boy, did I get it.  Moments after I "tweeted" several tweets in my feed stated "...#earthquake"..."  I was like what?  First, Colorado and then the East coast.  Let me just say I was a bit concerned because I have friends and family in both locations.  Well, all is A.O.K. with everyone.  Anyhow, one thing I will say is that when an earthquake is happening or has happened "STAY INSIDE"!  I can't believe a lot of people ran outside - very bad idea.  Alright, enough of my two-sense.  Twitter is such an informative little media outlet.  And oh how I love thee.  I love you twitter!

Enough tidbits for today.  I hope each of you has a wonderful day and I'll see you tomorrow.

Sassy Stylin' Sunday.

A little something different.  No, this isn't what I'm wearing today but, I love this dress and it's nude accessories with bits of gold.  Very sassy.  Very.

Have a wonderful Sunday.  I'm meeting my Mom for a Sunday morning movie, One Day.  Then we are headed back to my storage unit for round #2.  It's almost empty.  I hope to have the contents of my storage unit fully absorbed into my apartment by the end of the evening.  Oh, plus a little cleaning, a little laundry, and a little card making.  Enjoy your day!

Ugh
