Makeup & Mayhem on a Monday. {Post #2}

It's Monday night.  Contact are out and glasses are in.  My laundry is a work-in-progress this evening.  And I have to say I am a bit tired tonight and looking forward to going to bed a bit earlier this evening.  Well, slightly earlier than I normally do.  However, I am working on a new bedtime routine and tonight is Day 2.  And we all now that it takes 21 days to create a new habit.  So, wish me luck!

I enjoyed watching the Oscars last night.  And I enjoyed watching Anne Hathaway and James Franco.  Next year, I vote for Sandra Bullock and Justin Timberlake.  I am not going to bore you with my Oscars review of the best and dressed worst.  However, I will provide with you a fabulous links to check out the fabulous outfits if you didn't actually watch it yourself.  But, I will point out just a "few" of my favorites:  Anne Hathaway's red carpet dress (red), Sandra Bullock, Scarlett Johansen (I loved her dress and the color) and Natalie Portman.  Best couple:  Matthew and Camila.  And I was quite shocked to hear the name "Trent Reznor" called...  And I absolutely, positively vow that prior to the 2012 Oscars that I will SEE all of the movies up for "Best Movie", period.   I promise I will!  Last weekend, I did however, see The Kings Speech and 127 Hours.  So, here are the links (with both positive and negative reviews):  Beauty Parler, Elements of Style Blog, Habitually Chic, and Faces by Farah.

I am currently in the process of developing a marketing plan and budget for Blondie'sShop.  And I have been contacting some of my favorite blogs.  Also, I have been searching out new blogs that I think will "hit" my target group.  More about this later in the week...

Well, I indulged myself about 1-1/2 weeks ago and became a super hero.  You see a girlfriend of mine told me we could become super hero's with a little help from MAC.  And to think I was almost out of my Studio Fix powder and needed to stop in the MAC Store anyway.  So, I figured I would just check it out...  And boy did I check them out.  The

Wonder Woman line.  And The Lady Gaga inspired Viva Glam.  Remember I said I was "just" going to it out.  Yeah right!  You know what happened.  Of course, I bought something in addition to my Studio Fix.  Let me know what you think, here's what I bought... 

I absolutely LOVE the packaging and I think it is partially why I bought it.

However, I also truly love the colors.  MAC is amazing because you can mix it up wet or dry and completely change the look of the color.  Love it!  {This set is called Valiant; its so fitting don't you think?  I do.}

The "true" color of the lipglass is very hard to see in these pictures however, it is a fabulous shade.  Truly it is!

I'm almost ready to hop in my limo and head to the Oscars.  My dress is vintage and I love it!  However, I can't decide on the shoes...  So, I am bringing both and will decide on the way.  I hope you enjoy your evening I know I will.

Shout Out Saturday.

First things first, I am very excited today is Saturday.  Your probably wondering why I'm so excited...  Well, it should be obvious - I have 48 hours of free time!  And no work.  Bern's out of town so I'll be spending as much time as possible on my blog and etsy shop, BlondiesShop.  My studio/workshop (aka the kitchen counter) will be ensconced with all of my goodies for making note cards.

I received a little piece of heaven the other day.  A wonderful catalog from The Container Store.  Some very pretty file folders caught my eye, Serenity and Sweet Pea.  I really love the names.  Oh and the Bristol Desktop Collection, I'd love one of each.  However, I am not sure where I put everything.  I've also thought about getting some storage boxes to organize all of BlondiesShop's paper however, I am so unsure how-to organize all of it at this point.  So, when in doubt, wait.  So, I'm waiting.

Last night I finally managed to get some uninterrupted sleep  7 whole hours straight.  I stayed at Bern's house so hence, the reason why.  Tonight, I'm at my place so, please be thinking good thoughts.

This morning I went to the gym and did 30 minutes of cardio on my favorite machine, the elliptical.  Unfortunately, my IPOD was dead and that meant no tunes.  Yes, the IPOD is currently docked and charging!  It felt good to work out.  Also, something weird this morning I couldn't get on twitter or facebook on my Blackberry -- my connection kept "timing out".  I was pretty bummed.  Oh well, all is good now. 

So far today, I am behind schedule but, I've got all day.  In a bit I'm off to the grocery to get rations for this evening.  Pizza!  I'm out.  I've decided on pizza this evening, wine, and The Proposal.  And maybe a face mask.  Simply stated it is a "girlie evening".  I thought about going to the movies but, decided to pass and stay home to work in the design studio.

My goals for today: 

1) create 10 sets of note cards

2) upload 4 new scarves to BlondiesShop
3) complete scarf
4) follow-up on emails
5) grocery store
6) update marketing plan for the shop

Computer difficulties.

Unfortunately, there will be no blog post for today.  Technical difficulties on a major level.  Not sure how to fix it!  I might have to make a trip to my computer guys tomorrow...  Not thrilled but, it happens.  Anyhow, no post today.  But, I promise, promise, promise there will be a lot of posts this weekend!  Have a great evening and a fabulous Friday.

Wednesday Wanderlust.

I'm been busy, busy, busy.  So, please excuse my absence from ...this & that...  I've been busy completing items for my shop.  Check out the new items at Blondie's Shop and let me know what you think. 

For a little break I am going to reminisce about walking on cobblestones in Rome, enjoying a wonderful cappuccino in Barcelona, and enjoying the wind in Marseille.  And best of all I experienced all of this with the fabulous guy in my life, Bern.  I'm looking forward to our next trip...

Sassy Stylin' Sunday.

I am going casual today.  A 3-day weekend and I intend to enjoy it.  This is not my typical style but, I thought someone on polyvore.com put a nice outfit together.  So, casual it is.  Have a great Sunday.  Enjoy it.  

A makeover for my bedroom?

I've been contemplating a makeover for my bedroom.  Painting one wall a light orange.  Adding a window treatment to my one small window and blocking out the huge security flood light outside my window (at night).  The possibility of a different bedspread.  And every bed needs a lot of pillows.  Oh, and lastly I need to declutter the itty-bitty-teeny-tiny bedroom.

Simply stated, I just don't feel my bedroom is my bedroom but, more of...just a room I sleep in (because I have to).  I want my bedroom to be an oasis, a sanctuary and knock me over with a waive of relaxation (when I enter the room). 

I know I am limited with my expectations do the room's size and my budget constraints.  However, I am trying to utilize everything currently in the room and just remove items and things that don't need to be there.  So, hence why I am thinking of adding some color.  Actually, this was Bern's idea.  I have an orange theme going through my apartment and I thought I would just carry it through, lightly.

Now, I've already decided on everything however, I just need to figure out if and when I am going to do it.  You see I have Monday off and painting one tiny wall shouldn't take very long.  And a trip to IKEA to pick up the two panels and a curtain rod is about an hour of time round-trip.  So, when will I do it...?  I'll keep you posted.  And here are my picks in the interim.

Here is the area specific to the makeover:  the window and the wall (to be painted).

As you can see it is a bit dark in the room -- I want to make it brighter.  And I am thinking color is the way to go.

A few pillows however, I just want the orange one.  solid silk handloomed pillow covers.

The paint swatches.  A few colors are in the running.  Tomato Bisque.  Pumpkin Bread.  Keep in mind the computer screen changes the hue of the color.  I am picking a rather light orange color and these samples just don't appear as though they are...?  Ugh.

Wanderlust Wednesday.

I want to be pool side right now.  Anywhere.  And preferable with a white sandy beach near by.  And please bring on the pina coladas.  Yes, bring them on.  With rum.  I'm not driving and not worried about a designated driver because I am pool side and that is where I, excuse me "WE", intend to stay.  Sorry the post is late but, we can use this for tomorrow too!  Oh, and we could even include mojito's...
